If a trip to Belize is in your future, then you’ve GOT to put these 3 activities on your “Belize Bucket List!”
1. Cave Tubing – Did you know Belize is the only place in the world that you can tube through an underground cave system?! This was one of my absolute favorite activities we did on my group trip – it was such a unique experience! We were all joking about how we felt like we were on a ride at Disney World – but better! We floated on inner tubes in a refreshing river through an underground cave system viewing all of the impressive rock formations. Then we exited the cave and continued our lazy river experience weaving through the lush jungle. It’s the perfect activity on a hot day in the rainforest.
2. Fly Over The Blue Hole – The Great Blue Hole is a large underwater sinkhole about 60 miles off the coast of Belize City and is one of the most popular attractions in Belize. Although you can visit it by boat, the best way to experience it is from the air. The flight duration is approximately 45 mins and the experience will cost you about $250 USD. You can find flights from Belize City, San Pedro & Caye Caulker.
3. Snorkel With Nurse Sharks & Stingrays – Eeeeeekkk!! Ok this was a little terrifying but oh-so-amazinggg! Although we were nervous, we braved the waters with a professional guide, swam around and had some up close encounters with these beautiful animals. The stingrays are a little like cats and like to brush up against your legs! Freaked me the hell out because I tend to be a bit jumpy 😆 I have done this excursion from San Pedro and also from Caye Caulker – I much prefer the location near Caye Caulker.
