August 28 – September 7, 2024
(11 days/10 nights)
There are 11 spots available. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Welcome to Tanzania!
Karibu Tanzania! Today you’ll arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (Airport code – JRO) where you’ll be picked up by your private driver and escorted to the Original Maasai Lodge. You ladies are going to gasp when you see this place- it is SO cool! You’ll stay in a traditional (and super trendy!) Maasai-style boma with a view of Mt Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Once you’ve checked in, take some time to explore the lodge or relax and unwind until we meet for dinner and the sundown ceremony with the Maasai tribe.
(Dinner included)
Day 2 – “Design Your Day” at the Maasai Lodge in West Kilimanjaro
Today we’re in no rush, so you’ll get to sleep in a bit after a long travel day! Wake up with coffee delivered to your boma, grab breakfast at the buffet and then “design your day” at the Maasai Lodge. You’ll get a list of activities including nature walks with the Maasai tribe, massages at the spa, swim in the infinity pool with a view of Mount Kili, make jewelry with the Maasai women and more!
(Breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

Day 6 & 7 – Game Drives in the Central Serengeti
Serengeti National Park has been named the best national park in the world for the fifth year in a row and the TGG is going to spend two full days here! We’ll go on multiple game drives looking for all the big cats (plus dozens of other species!) that call the Serengeti home. In between our game drives, we’ll be relaxing at our boutique tented lodge where you may see zebras grazing right outside your door!
(Breakfast, lunch & dinner included)
Day 8 – Final Game Drive & Transfer to Zanzibar
After completing our very last game drive of the trip, we’ll be transported to the local airstrip to take a short flight to Zanzibar for some beach time! We’ll spend one night in historic Stone Town – another UNESCO world heritage site and the home of Freddie Mercury!
(Breakfast included)!
Day 9 – Nakupenda Sandbank Island Boat Trip
Nakupenda sandbank island is a tiny strip of white powdery sand surrounded by the most beautiful turquoise blue water you’ve ever seen! Today the TGG will take a boat trip out to Nakupenda where we will swim in the gorgeous waters of the Indian Ocean and enjoy a seafood feast on the beach! After spending some time out on the water, we’ll be transported to our beach resort in Nungwi where we’ll be staying the next 2 nights.
(Breakfast and lunch included)

Day 3 – Game Drive in Tarangire National Park
Your inner child that grew up on The Lion King is going to be squealing because today we go on our first game drive in Tarangire National Park!! This park has the highest density of elephants in the country, so you’re likely to see lots of them today! With the towering baobab trees all throughout the park, it’s also a hot spot for giraffe sightings. After a long day of safari we’ll check into the Lake Burunge Tented Lodge where you’ll see even more animals hanging outside your rooms!
(Breakfast, lunch & dinner included)
Day 4 – Maasai Village Visit & Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Before making our way to the Ngorongoro Crater, we will stop at a local Maasai Village and distribute solar lights and water filters to families without electricity because leaving places better than we found them is the Travel Girl Gang way! We’ll continue on towards the Ngorongoro Crater Rim and get checked into our luxury camp for the next two nights.
(Breakfast, lunch & dinner included)
Day 5 – Game Drive in the Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast the TGG will load up and be one of the first safari vehicles to descend 2,000 feet down into the crater for a full day of game drives! The Ngorongoro Crater was formed millions of years ago when a volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself and it is now classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. The floor of the crater is covered in nutritious grasses and is home to a ton of wildlife. Whether it be elephants, warthogs, zebras or lions – no matter where you look, you are guaranteed to see an animal of some sort!
(Breakfast, lunch & dinner included)

Day 10 – Chillin’ in Nungwi
We’ve been out adventuring every single day – it’s time to chill! Enjoy a slow morning waking up to the sound of the waves outside your window before throwing on your swimsuit to catch some rays. There are no set plans, but I suspect that we’ll be altogether out on the beach having some fun in the sun! It’s the last full day traveling with Travel Girl Gang, so we’ll gather for some evening drinks & girl time before sending everyone off to the airport tomorrow.
(Breakfast included)
Day 11 – It’s not goodbye, it’s “see ya later!”
You’ll have the morning free to have breakfast, get packed up and ready for transfer to the Zanzibar Airport (airport code – ZNZ) where you will depart for home.
Our bucket lists have been checked and our hearts are full as this Travel Girl Gang trip comes to an end. I KNOW we will see each other again, so as I always say on my TGG trips – It’s not “goodbye,” it’s “see you later!”
(Breakfast included)

“I wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest to recommend a trip with Ashley! I loved every single adventure we took and it took so much stress out of my life to have it all planned in advance with all her former knowledge of the best places to go. The resorts were gorgeous, everyone got along so well, and Ashley is the coolest! I am already dying to take another trip with her and the girl gang.”

I look forward to seeing you in Tanzania!
“Honestly it has taken me a while to write this review because I really do not know how to put my thoughts and feelings into words about this trip. Simply put, the trip was amazing! It was everything I wanted and needed, plus more.
From the beginning it was evident that tons of planning and consideration had gone into the trip (thank you for that)! There are also so many examples of that kindness and genuineness from the guides throughout the trip and they were always thinking ahead, always looking out, and always trying to ensure we all were having the time of our lives. I was always made to feel welcomed, comfortable and a part of the group.
Thanks to everyone who planned and facilitated this trip, I did have the time of my life. I never felt unsafe, uncomfortable, or out of the loop. I always felt well taken care of. It truly was an experience of a lifetime and is one I will never forget.
I’m sure there is so much more to say, but I’ll end it by saying going on a trip with complete strangers… especially all women… is wayyyy out of my comfort zone. I was nervous and scared, but it was totally amazing. I left the trip with friendships I know I will keep for a lifetime. Everything about the trip just felt good and right. I will be going on more travel girl gang trips in the future… that’s for sure.
Thank you again!”
