Home of the ancient Pharaohs, Egypt is a destination full of dazzling temples and tombs that wow all who visit.
Egypt is a land shrouded in mystery. From the ancient pyramids of Giza to the meandering Nile River – Egypt is undeniably a place to be adding to your bucket list. This country has had a varied past. When the Romans set foot in Egypt over 2000 years ago, the pyramids were already considered to be historical ruins. Fast forward to today and layers upon layers of history have created a lively melting pot of cultures.
Thanks to Egypt’s strategic location in Northern Africa, the country enjoys a mild climate. In the summer, the temperature skyrockets but during the winter, the daytime feels like spring and the nights are cold. The best time to see the Egypt tourist spots is between October and April. During these months the temperatures are cooler but it is still enjoyably warm to be able to sit on the beach or see all the key sites. The timeless and cinematic desert landscapes of Egypt have been left fairly untouched by the hands of time. Read on to discover the best things to see in Egypt.

What an incredible week it has been! It’s hard to find the words to describe just what this Egypt trip has done for me. I have made friendships that I believe will last a lifetime and have been able to experience, view, and learn about so much history for the first time. This trip was such a good balance of learning, fun and relaxation! Cannot wait to book my next trip with Ashley! She has been so welcoming and a joy to travel with!
Itinerary
Day 1
Airport pickup and transfer to hotel-Welcome to Egypt!!! You will arrive after a long travel day, so I’ve planned to ensure you have a relaxing and smooth first day/night. Once you arrive at The Conrad, a 5-star hotel on the Nile River, you will check into your room and have some time to unwind prior to our welcome dinner. Here you will get to meet all of your new travel buddies and kick this trip of a lifetime off the right way.

Day 2
Get ready to have your mind blown with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, something you’ve likely only seen in a history book. This is hands-down the most jaw-dropping moment ever, and what a way to start a trip! Then we’ll explore the Egyptian Museum and take a walk through history. In the evening you’ll have the opportunity to take an ATV excursion around the Pyramids of Giza ($60 pp).

Day 3
This morning we will take a short (1 hour) flight to Aswan. Here we will see the beautiful Philae Temple, which is unique as it’s located on its own island. Next we will cruise along the Nile to the colorful Nubian Village-one of my personal favs! Here you’ll get a chance to do some shopping, get a henna tattoo, and try some local coffee. After this action filled day, we will check into our Nile cruise boat.

Day 4
Get ready to be awed by one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt-Abu Simbel! We then return to the boat and start our Nile cruise to the city of Luxor. We will make a pit stop at the Comombo Temple on the way.

Day 5
Today we will have a free day to catch up on phone calls with loved ones, read books, or simply lounge in the sun. We continue our journey on the Nile cruise, and visit Edfu Temple on the way to Luxor.

Day 6
We made it ladies! Today we arrive in Luxor and will head to the Valley of the Kings where you’ll get to explore the underground tombs and see the ancient hieroglyphics. You’ll even get a chance to lay your eyes on the mummy of King Tut. Afterwards, we will visit the temple of the baddest bitch in ancient Egypt-Queen Hatshepsut.

Day 7
Today we are back on land and say goodbye to our cruise boat. Get ready to feel humbled by the sheer magnitude of the many columns that make up the Karnak Temples. Yalla Habibi!!!! Let’s begin our road trip to Hurghada and spend some time on the beautiful blue waters of the Red Sea. For the next couple of nights we will be staying at the 5-star Marriott Hurghada Beach Resort.

Day 8
What other way would you prefer to spend a day with your girl gang other than a Private Yacht Trip on the Red Sea? You’ll have the opportunity to scuba dive & snorkel at one of the most famous dive spots in the world.

Day 9
It’s not goodbye, it’s see ya later….today we fly back to Cairo & say our farewells! Miss you already!

My first getaway with Ashley exceeded all my expectations! My favorite thing about it is that she doesn’t just plan it, she experiences everything with the group and is right there having fun with you! She made sure everyone had a blast, and was extra accommodating with my food allergy! Also, I felt very safe during the entire trip being in a big group and having security with us as well. If you like a well planned, fun, adventurous, and a culturally immersive experience, you will not regret going on a JFJ getaway! I made friends that I will keep in touch with for life! Ashley was so fun to be on vacation with and I would recommend her trips to all my friends!
Weather & Clothing Tips
March is a great time to visit Egypt – sunny skies and average temps of 75 degrees! ☀️ It can get cool at night, so please be sure to bring a light jacket or hoodie!
Cairo is a very conservative city, so dressing modestly here is an expectation. Please refrain from showing shoulders, chest, and knees while in Cairo. Flowy pants, maxi dresses and/or jeans and a top would be great options. Outside of Cairo it is much more relaxed and you can feel comfortable dressing more freely. In the beach town of Hurghada, 2 piece bathing suits and shorts are completely fine!

Who’s ready for an epic adventure through Egypt?!
Ashley did an excellent job planning this trip. She was fast to address any issues or concerns anyone had while on the trip. It was so amazing to meet other girls with the same passion for travel as I have and share this trip with them. We had so many laughs and I will cherish the memories forever!
I went with Ashley and 8 other females to Egypt for a week and it was the best week of my life. The itinerary was perfect! We saw everything in that week and had an amazing time along the way.
